Here's the birthday girl!! Glad she is starting to feel better as rib is not hurting nearly as much now allowing her to get back on the treadmill for her exercise. The ship recognized her birthday today by putting her name on this morning's tv. The four of us will be celebrating this evening as we have 7:30 dinner reservations at Prime 7, the steakhouse restaurant on board.
We are at sea today in the Arctic Ocean heading back down to the mainland of Norway. We should be docking around 10:00 am tomorrow at the port in Harstad. Below is our position at noon today. (yellow arrow in red circle)
At noon every sea day Captain Green makes a PA announcement updating our progress with: ship's position, distance from last port & distance to go to next port, weather & sea conditions, and depth of the ocean underneath us. Normally this is our cue to head up to La Veranda for a bite to eat. At the pool grill today the chef if featuring "rib fest buffet". Of course inside, there is a huge salad bar, cold shell sea food, a carving station with something different every day, hot buffet items, selection of cheeses, breads, and of course, desserts. Also out on pool deck there is about 10 flavors of ice cream to choose from. Oh, I forgot 4 kinds of pizza slices, soup, and pasta station where they make it to order for you. Now you know why we go to the gym!!!
The ocean is once again very smooth both last night and today. The air temperature and sea temperature at noon are both the same--48F. That is why we have some fog outside now. While we were at lunch our suite steward and stewardess decorated our suite for Rebecca's birthday. EVERYONE on this crew is so nice and very friendly. You cannot walk past any of them without their saying something nice.
This is not what I expected the Arctic Ocean would be like. Another smooth day, but mind you, I'm not complaining. Loving it!! I called and talked with my dad today. We get 9 hours of free phone time so nice check up on him every few days at least.
We will be docking at Harstad, Norway, tomorrow morning at 10:00. Not much to talk about today. Tonight is a "Beattles and Rock 'N Roll Dance Party". Oh, boy!
